Christopher: I've been using Dvorak for years. It works very well. And I learned the QWERTY-⌘ version for the same reason you mention, which I think is also the reason for its existence.

Simone:

Curiously, for me, I use the left hand to type the 'x' in the Dvorak layout, rather than the right hand.

So do I, actually. Having it marked for the right hand was an error, induced by me being tired and about to go to bed when I published this post. I've now fixed it.

Oh, actually, one other difference. I always press the spacebar with my right thumb, not my left, regardless of layout.

Curiously, for me, I use the left hand to type the 'x' in the Dvorak layout, rather than the right hand. However, when I type using the QWERTY layout, I actually type as you do — using the right hand to type the 'b'. I guess that key position is the only one on the keyboard that is equidistant from the closest fingers of both the right and left hands, though, so it doesn't really matter what hand you use to type it.

So you're going to Dvorak, with Qwerty for the command key? I'm thinking about going back to Dvorak (for the third time), but don't want to lose a lot of my commands muscle memory (again). Do post about how it goes.
