Amazon's actually presenting some pretty good free songs, better than iTunes has ever had (with only a couple of exceptions on iTunes—<a href="itms://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?playlistId=203249713&s=143441&i=203249748" rel="nofollow">Los Angeles</a>, for example, is a good song, and <a href="itms://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?playlistId=5869862&s=143441&i=5869798" rel="nofollow">Run</a> is one of my favorites). Of course, it's still early; they may have just run out of good ones and will have crap from now on. ;) Meanwhile, on iTunes, don't shy away from the Spanish-language free songs. They're usually better than the English-language free songs. Indeed.
