Watch your back
I’ve heard a lot of mentions of the free Flip4Mac for WMV since it was announced. I want to point out a danger in its EULA:
Section 3. Audit Permitted.
Telestream shall have the right, upon reasonable prior notice to You and during Your normal business hours, to audit Your use of the Licensed Materials and to inspect Your records related to any copies of the Software, or portions thereof, made by You.

Whoa…quite the danger..NOT… Just a bunch of legal jargon that will never see reality on anyone’s behalf. Flip4Mac is excellent, with excellent support

I have a motto (one of several). hope for the best; plan for the worst.

They have to get past the wonderful FileVault encryption if you bother to have a ~/Applications folder and bother to password protect your system. Somehow I suspect they’d need a warrant and a police escort which would involve pressing charges on something and something more than circumstancial evidence. That’s saying that they ever bothered to come to your locale in the first place and that you were doing something suspicious. So plan for the worst like I and others do.
